It is precisely what scientists at Newcastle University just recently attempted to uncover. Scientists examined the polyphenol antioxidants in green tea to determine how they impact the body when digested. Even though the polyphenol antioxidants in green tea are famous for this drinks benefits for health, Dr. Okello and his research team set out to understand better how these polyphenol antioxidants behave once they make it into the body. This research, which was fairly recently released in the Phytomedicine journal, demonstrated that the chemicals created from the digestion of polyphenol antioxidants were far better at promoting cell health and neurological health compared to polyphenol antioxidants alone!
The study revealed that as soon as enzymes in the intestines digest the polyphenol antioxidants, the resulting substance possessed a stronger capacity to bind with toxins. Essentially this means that the health benefits of green tea are much better for us than even the many test-tube studies have shown, and these test-tube studies have shown great results!
